Meals for Kids

This Christmas you can give precious meals to the children of Child Development Nepal.

Many of the 635 children attending our eight learning centers would suffer from malnourishment if they did not get a hot nutritious meal served to them each day.

This meal is CRITICAL for their bodies and minds to develop properly – help them think at school and live productive healthy lives. Food. So simple. So important.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! It takes 231,775 meals to feed 635 children for one year. Each meal costs an average of only 25 cents! In 2024, we need to raise $57,944 to cover just the cover of feeding these beautiful children.

Would you consider providing meals to cover 1 child for one month? Or an entire year? Check out the giving guide image to help you select how many meals you’d like to provide for children.

“Malnutrition remains a concern in Nepal. More than 40 percent of Nepalese children younger than five years of age are stunted and 10 percent suffer from wasting as a result of acute malnutrition…”

Sarnima

Meet Sarnima

Sarnima is a girl in remote Nepal whose family was displaced by the 2015 earthquake that claimed 9000 lives in Nepal.

She came to our Learning Center Seven at Damgande very sad and thin and malnourished, with poor hygiene and some neglect from her struggling parents whose lives of poverty were made worse by their earthquake displacement.

She used to cry most of the time. Her parents had to go for labour work early in the morning so they sent her to the Learning Center for education and food.

It’s been nearly seven years since Sarnima started to receive nutrition, tutoring, and care from our CDN team.

She has gained weight nicely and is no longer malnourished—seemingly all grown up at 12 years! CDN’s feeding program is a great help for Sarnima to improve and sustain her health.

Health is not Sarnima’s only transformation. Even though she was from a Buddhist tradition family, she has now met and trusted Jesus and is growing spiritually.

She is thriving as a student and is now known as a happy young lady!
