Hannah Memorial Christmas Celebration

Our Hannah was an amazing girl, so special and unique.

She brought lots of joy to our lives and has touched many others through her contagious laugh, smile and beautiful red curly hair. We are thankful for
this journey and grateful for God’s faithfulness every step of the way.

Hannah came into this world with some medical complications and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (CP). She was the second oldest of six, having two sisters and three brothers. Her siblings all loved her very much, included her, and cared for her. She was a part of everything we did together as a family. She knew she was very loved. CP affected her, both physically and mentally, and involved us making many sacrifices to give her the best care possible. Hannah loved attending school when she was young and the students in her class loved being “Hannah’s Helper.”

Hannah loved going to church, where she would give her familiar, loud laugh and make noise with the music. She loved being outdoors, taking walks in her wheelchair, and attending her siblings’ sporting events. She enjoyed listening to her favorite music and books, but most of all, she loved being with her family. Whether it was at home with her siblings, going to extended family gatherings for holidays, or traveling on our numerous family adventures, she was always there and always happy. Hannah taught us how to love unconditionally and how to live a meaningful life even through adversity. She taught us how to see and live life with a different perspective. She also taught us to lean on Jesus during difficult days and praise him in the mundane. She taught us that those with special needs are truly special indeed.

Wallace FamilyWe faced many challenges throughout Hannah’s life. In those times, God provided a way for us to find joy and purpose in serving him. Some of those ways helped make our life of taking care of Hannah seem more bearable to handle and helped us focus on thanksgiving and gratitude. What God would unexpectedly put in our path did not always make sense, but we often realized – it was to point it back to Him. It is only by God’s grace and love and support from others, that our family was able to survive raising Hannah for 17 years.

As Hannah grew older, her medical issues continued to increase over time. In December of 2020, we made a very hard decision and put Hannah in hospice care. On that same day, God unexpectedly introduced us to Child Development Nepal. He knew our hearts would need healing and joy; he knew that giving and serving helped bring us that joy we so desperately needed. We didn’t know much about this organization, but we felt the nudge to give and so we chose to have faith, to trust and obey what he was asking us to do. In return, our decision to trust God has helped us through the healing process of the last few months. Acts 20:35 says, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

In April of 2021, Hannah went to be with Jesus. She is in her forever home, where she is healed, thriving, singing and dancing on streets of gold, no more suffering, no more illnesses, no more pain or brokenness. We are thankful she has received the best gift anyone could possibly have.

Let's honor Hannah by helping Children in Nepal

Our desire is for everyone to be able to have the opportunity to experience that gift as well. When we were first introduced to Child Development Nepal, we knew very little about this organization. As we have learned more, trusted those involved, prayed, and supported this ministry, it has helped turn our focus to something new that helps take that pain that we feel at times, toward helping someone else.

In honor of Hannah, we are blessed to partner with Child Development Nepal in
remembrance of Hannah to help bring the children in the learning centers and the people in the villages nearby the opportunity to hear and know about Jesus this Christmas. Currently Child Development Nepal does not have enough funding to have a Christmas celebration at their eight learning centers. We are hopeful that through your generosity and love for Hannah, these Nepali children experience the beautiful gift that Hannah already has and that her life will continue to positively impact others in ways we never imagined.

All donations collected through this special fund will be sent over to Nepal on November 30th, so they will receive them in time to plan for Christmas. We are hoping to raise $10,000.

If you feel led to give a gift in honor of Hannah, so the children and others in these Nepal villages can celebrate Jesus’s Birthday this year and have the opportunity to hear and receive the gift Hannah already has, you can donate by clicking on this button.

Thank you.
