Changing Nepal
One Child at a Time

Making a Difference

Child Development Nepal serves 750 children in eight Learning Centers in remote Nepal villages. Our team of 30 provide meaningful instruction, nutritious meals, and much more six days per week.

Nutrition

Each Learning Center has it’s own cook. Children get one healthy and nutritious meal before going to school. For many this is their only meal of the day.

Education

The Learning Center teachers help the children with their studies. Most students quickly improve their grades and some rise to the top of their class at school.

Spiritual

Children learn positive characters traits through Bible stories, sing songs of praise to God and receive spiritual discipleship at the Learning Center.

Water

A clean water filtration system has been created at each Learning Center. This is no small feat in remote Nepal.

Hygiene

Most children come into the Learning Center knowing very little about personal hygiene. They are taught the importance of washing their hands and other sanitary skills.

Community

The positive effects of the Learning Centers can be felt well beyond the walls of each center. The community can see the benefit of what we are doing.

Why Nepal?

Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, with more than a third of the population living in poverty. Most people live in remote villages with limited access to farmable land and clean drinking water.

There isn’t much of a health care system in remote Nepal. Many children die before they are five years old and those that survive often suffer from malnutrition and diarrhea.

The education system, with its mediocre teachers, lack of buildings, materials, and personnel, is very deficient. Many children leave school before their eleventh birthday.

Child labor is rampant, especially for girls who are valued less in their families. Many end up being trafficked or in underaged marriages that they want no part of.

Please help us help the children of Nepal.

Religions of Nepal

Christians are the Minority in Nepal

Sadly, only 1.4% of Nepali’s are Christian. Many who convert to Christianity have been subject to widespread social exclusion and sporadic violence. In 2017, Nepal’s parliament passed a bill limiting religious freedoms.

Even so, the work must go on. Child Development Nepal is committed to bringing Jesus to the wonderful people of Nepal.
